Letter from the President Dec 15 2004
The news you are
hearing is all
over
and it has caused
a
lot of anxiety
among
our nurses. It
has
also caused a lot
of
anxiety to us and
the lawyers and
the
healthcare
industry
in America.
From our
immigration
lawyer, we
learned
that the
immigration
process will
continue - it
will
not stop as
reported
by some papers.
Come
January, the
immigration will
give priority to
those petitions
filed before Jan
2002. It means
that
those petitions
filed after Jan
2002
will experience
some
delay in the
issuance of their
visas.
As to how long
the
delay will be, we
don't know. We
just
have to wait and
see. The
immigration
has not come out
with formal
announcements to
calm down those
people most
affected
by this. We have
been checking
their
website as you
must
probably have
done
too but there is
no
clarification
there.
If one really
thinks
about it, this
new
development does
not
make any sense to
everyone. The
healthcare
delivery
in the US will
suffer even more.
And who will
suffer
the most? The
American people
who
are sick.
So just stay
calm.
If you will be
affected, it will
probably be just
a
temporary delay.
You
will still get to
come to America
and
live your
American
Dream. If it is a
year or two
longer
than expected,
just
enjoy your last
couple of years
in
the Philippines.
You
will realize
later
on that the delay
will only make
your
coming trip to
America all the
more
exciting.
Sincerely,
Sir Nolan |
