FEBRUARY 2010 UPDATE Feb 01 2010 If the sky is cloudy
these days, as a way
of saying,
that's because the
sky is cloudy these
days. For so long
now every one has
been waiting for
some piece of good
news about issuance
of visas for foreign
nurses. Alas,
none is forthcoming,
the way they were
5-10 years ago.
Retrogression has
been the most
fearsome entity that
has been causing
nightmares to
everybody.
To date, there is no
clear indication yet
as to when this
issue will be
resolved. The US
Congress is still in
the
middle of resolving
the country's
healthcare reform
bill.
Due to recent
developments in US
politics, however,
the
pending bill's
resolution has
become
problematic.
Prior to that, we
were all hoping that
after finalizing the
healthcare reform
bill, the US
Congress would turn
its
attention to US
Immigration which
inevitably includes
the issue of foreign
healthcare workers
notably nurses.
But now, everyone in
healthcare is
crossing his fingers
for some lucky
break.
If you are a nurse
or PT and are
waiting for that
lucky
break on foreign
visas, make sure
that you are well
prepared for that
time. Well prepared
means you are
maintaining your
nursing or PT
experience and have
satisfied licensing
requirements, ie
NCLEX, IELTS, NPTE,
etc.
Patience is the
mother of all
virtues. Everyone
has
heard that before.
Well, this is the
time to believe it.
Believe that the
foreign visas for
the US will happen.
It
will happen. |
